Russians call requirement to learn language in Latvia repression

I really like the situation with language exams in Latvia

For several months now, Russians there have been persuaded to pass the exams. These are people who lived in the country during the Soviet era and then decided to stay. They took Russian citizenship but did not want to move there.

They don't want to learn Latvian either. In September, there was a huge cry when they were asked to take the A2 exams. That is, to buy something in a store and have a smalltalk with their neighbors. Some complained, some cried, and some ignored the exam altogether. The latter were the majority.

Current Time channel made a sympathetic story about this outrage. In her commentary, the human rights activist said that people should not be forced and called the full-scale war "external political phenomena."

Then they made a story about how sports coaches are suspended from their jobs in Latvia. The author also complains and concludes that such a policy will lead to the decline of the sports industry. Teachers are being asked to do the unimaginable - to be fluent in Latvian to use it at school. The grip of the repressive language machine has been compressed to the maximum.

The trainers are given three months to prepare for the exam. But they do not even want to give it a try and proudly resign. The worst situation is in the volleyball section. The coach there resigned and said: "We had Latvians and Russians on the team, and we never had any problems."

Those Latvians are just beasts, damn them.

Oh, and the most interesting thing is that it's all the fault of the snitches who write denunciations. We, by the way, are also full of people who call everything in the world denunciations.
