Russia's overnight attack on Ukraine kills four in Lviv region, one in Zaporizhzhia

Zelenskyy's reaction
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that tonight the Russian Federation launched more than 50 missiles and about 500 attack drones at Ukraine.
"They struck with cruise missiles, Shaheds, and Kinzhal missiles among them. The Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Odesa, and Kirovohrad regions were under attack. As of now, about 10 people are known to have been injured in the attack. Unfortunately, five have been killed. Sincere condolences to all who lost loved ones due to this terror," the president emphasized.
Currently, rescue and recovery operations are underway in the affected regions.
Zelenskyy also heard reports from the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, the Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba, the heads of the regional military administrations, and the head of Naftogaz Serhii Koretskyi.
"Today, the Russians once again struck our infrastructure, everything that ensures a normal life for people. We need more protection, a faster implementation of all defense agreements, especially regarding air defense, to make this air terror meaningless. A unilateral ceasefire in the sky is possible, and it is what can open the way to real diplomacy. America and Europe must act to force Putin to stop," the president concluded.
Zaporizhzhia
At 11:07 p.m., the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported explosions in the region.
Later, he clarified that private houses were damaged as a result of the attack on the Zaporizhzhia district.
At 12:12 a.m., air defense was active.
At 1:14 a.m., explosions were heard again, and an hour later, Fedorov reported that air defense was active.
Explosions were heard for the third time at 2:29 a.m., and again at 2:34 a.m.
"Combined attack on Zaporizhzhia. The enemy launched at least 10 strikes with Shaheds and guided aerial bombs: in some areas, there are power and water outages," Fedorov noted at 2:51 a.m.
In addition, a fire broke out on the territory of one of the enterprises as a result of the enemy attack on Zaporizhzhia. According to preliminary information, as of 3:12 a.m., two people were injured as a result of the night attack.
Hits on residential buildings and fires have been reported.
As of 3:37 a.m., the number of injured had risen to 4. Among them is a 16-year-old girl. Medics are providing necessary assistance to everyone.
At 3:43 a.m., it became known that a woman was killed as a result of the Russian attack.
Later, Fedorov reported that the number of injured was 6. As of 6:07 a.m., the number of injured had risen to 9.
"Tonight, the enemy once again attacked Zaporizhzhia: at least ten strikes on the city. One person was killed. Nine were injured. High-rise buildings and private houses were destroyed, and cars were burned. Windows were blown out, yards were damaged, and there are power and water supply interruptions," Fedorov wrote.
As a result of the attack, more than 73,000 subscribers are without power. More than 67,000 subscribers in the regional center and more than 6,000 in the Zaporizhzhia district are without electricity.
Power engineers have already begun restoration work, with the planned completion time by the end of the day.
In total, as a result of the nighttime Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia, eight high-rise buildings, eight private houses, and non-residential buildings were damaged.
"One apartment building suffered serious destruction. In others, windows were blown out and facades were damaged. Utility workers have already begun to eliminate the consequences of the attack — they are covering the blown-out windows," he concluded.
As of 8:45 a.m., the number of injured had risen to 10.
The condition of most of the victims allows for outpatient treatment.
Two people - a 60-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman - are still being examined by medics.
Lviv
The mayor of Lviv, Andrii Sadovyi, warned at 4:09 a.m. about drones moving towards the city. At 4:26 a.m. - air defense was active.
At 5:04 a.m., a repeated series of explosions occurred in the city. Air defense was active.
In less than half an hour, Sadovyi warned of missiles heading towards the city.
"Due to the massive enemy attack, public transport in Lviv is not yet operating on its routes," he wrote at 6:37 a.m.
6:54 a.m. - a group of missiles heading towards Lviv.
As of 7:20 a.m., part of Lviv was without power. This is known to affect Riasne and Levandivka.
"While there is no confirmed information about hazardous emissions in Lviv, it is better to close your windows and stay in a safe place just in case," Sadovyi noted. "After the Russian shelling, several fires are ongoing in the city, so it is important to protect yourself from possible harmful fumes and smoke."
Later, Sadovyi reported that in Lapaivka, near Lviv, two people were killed as a result of the enemy strike. Two others were wounded.
"A 46-year-old man sustained severe injuries, including a traumatic brain injury. His condition is serious. A 60-year-old woman has a contused head wound. Her condition is of moderate severity," he noted.
Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified that as a result of the night attack, 4 people were killed and another four were wounded.
Chernihiv region
The head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, reported that Russia attacked Chernihiv with Shaheds tonight.
"There is a hit on one of the enterprises. There is a fire at the site of the impact. The enemy also targeted a power facility. Because of this, there are emergency power outages in one of the city's districts," he noted.
Nizhyn was also under a drone attack. A residential building was damaged. The enemy also struck one of the enterprises, causing a fire. The fire was extinguished.
In the Semenivka community, an administrative building was damaged by a drone strike.
Cherkasy region
The head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, Ihor Taburets, reported that power lines were damaged in the district as a result of a drone crash. Some subscribers are without electricity. Emergency crews of Oblenergo are already working.
