Death toll from Russian missile strike on high-rise building in Kryvyi Rih rises to 5

On the evening of March 12, the Russian army attacked the city of Kryvyi Rih with missiles, resulting in casualties

This was announced by Oleksandr Vilkul, chairman of the city's defense council.

There were at least three hits in Kryvyi Rih.

As of the afternoon of March 13, five people were reported dead.

"Unfortunately, the fifth person died as a result of yesterday's rocket attack. It is a man. He was found during the debris removal on one of the floors," Vilkul wrote.

In the morning, Vilkul reported 4 dead as a result of an enemy missile attack - a woman of 47 years old died in the hospital. Her injuries were incompatible with life. 

According to Vilkul, there are still 6 "serious" patients in the hospital, including 2 children. Doctors are fighting for their lives.

The rescue operation ended late in the evening on March 12. At that time, three people were reported dead - 2 women and a man. About 40 more people were injured, including 10 children.

"There are 17 wounded adults (including 4 seriously injured and 1 woman in an extremely serious condition) and 9 children, one of them in a serious condition, in the city's hospitals," Vilkul stated at 22:00.

Around midnight, Serhiy Lysak, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration added that there were eight "serious" wounded after the evening attack. Among them are three children, including a 4-year-old boy.

The youngest victims of Russian terror are not even a year old. These are a 2-month-old boy and an 11-month-old girl. The total number of wounded is 44. More than two dozen people have been hospitalized. The rest will be treated on an outpatient basis.

The assistance headquarters started working at 8:00 p.m. People can contact the headquarters to discuss issues related to resettlement, building materials to repair broken windows and any other issues.

Earlier, the Air Force reported a guided missile, presumably the Kh-59, was fired in the direction of Kryvyi Rih.

Zelenskyy's reaction 

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy also reacted to the Russian attack on Kryvyi Rih and published a video of the nine-story building that was hit by a Russian missile.  

"A rescue operation is underway in Kryvyi Rih. A nine-story residential building has been destroyed. There are many wounded, some of them seriously. There is also a wounded child. As of now, two people have died. My condolences to the families and friends," Zelenskyy wrote.  

He added that people are being searched for under the rubble.
