
Russian missile attack on Kyiv leaves one dead, several injured
On the morning of April 6, an air raid alert was declared across Ukraine as Russians launched cruise and ballistic missiles. As a result of the attack on the capital, one person was killed and several were injured

Around 5:00 a.m., an air raid alert was announced, followed by a series of explosions in Kyiv at intervals.
At 5:15 a.m., Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that medics were called to the Darnytskyi district, and later to the Obolonskyi district. Preliminary reports indicate debris fell in two locations.
Fires were later reported in non-residential buildings in the Obolonskyi, Darnytskyi, and Solomianskyi districts. In Darnytskyi, there are injured—two people were hospitalized by medics.
In total, three Kyiv residents were injured in the morning attack.
Later, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, confirmed that one person was killed in the attack. According to the mayor, the man’s body was found in the Darnytskyi district. He was outside, near the explosion’s epicenter. The man is being identified.
According to the State Emergency Service, a fire broke out at one location in the Darnytskyi district in a non-residential building. At another location, a building was damaged and three parked cars caught fire.
In the Obolonskyi district, a fire started at a furniture workshop and spread to an adjacent warehouse building. At another site, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors of a five-story business center were partially destroyed.
In the Solomianskyi district, an open-air fire broke out in separate centers and the facade of a warehouse building caught fire.
Later, Klitschko reported that another fire had broken out in the Darnytskyi district. Eight cars were also damaged. Emergency services responded to the scene.
In the Obolonskyi district, where a fire broke out in an office center as a result of the Russian attack, the building sustained partial destruction. Rescuers are working at the site.
Espreso journalist Kateryna Halko visited the site of the attack in the Obolonskyi district, where the building was partially destroyed.
According to Espreso correspondent Pavlo Petrov, the State Emergency Service has been eliminating the consequences of the ballistic missile strike since the morning. The work is underway in Solomianskyi, Darnytskyi and Obolonskyi districts of Kyiv.
