
Russian forces increase drone use in Ukraine’s Sumy region 20-fold
Russian forces have increased their use of drones in the Sumy region by 20 times, while the destruction of housing and civilian infrastructure has grown fivefold
Volodymyr Artiukh, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, reported the information.
“In the Sumy region, Russia has begun using drones 20 times more, and the destruction of housing and civilian infrastructure has increased fivefold,” he said.
At the same time, four civilians were injured in the past day due to Russian shelling of the region.
“In particular, due to strikes with guided bombs in the Krasnopillia community, residential buildings were destroyed and three people were injured. One more person was wounded as a result of an FPV drone strike,” the head of the administration added.
According to Artiukh, Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups are entering Ukrainian territory. Enemy assault operations have also intensified, with attempts to infiltrate border communities on foot without using armored vehicles.
- On March 13, during a meeting of the Sumy Regional Defense Council, a decision was made on the mandatory evacuation of residents from 8 settlements in the Yunakivka and Myropillia communities.
