Russia's recent massive attacks against civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, in particular, against critical energy facilities, jeopardize nuclear safety

European Commission spokeswoman Anitta Hipper stated this during a conversation with journalists in Brussels on November 10, European Pravda reports.

The European Commission is convinced that Russia's attacks on Ukrainian energy, including critical infrastructure, pose a threat to nuclear safety.

"Putin continues to terrorize Ukrainians. We see that with his strikes, he deliberately attacks critical energy infrastructure, in particular substations that supply electricity to nuclear power plants. This massive attack led to interruptions in electricity, water and heat supply and also jeopardized nuclear safety," Hipper said.

She reported that, in addition to working to support Ukraine, the European Union "is constantly working on sanctions (against the Russian Federation - ed.), on supporting Ukraine in the energy sector, on military aid."

"We also continue to cooperate with partner countries to mobilize additional support and help Ukraine as the largest recipient of our aid in the energy sector," the EU spokeswoman added.
