Russian aggression kills at least 521 children in Ukraine — Office of Prosecutor General
At least 1,732 children have been affected by Russia's full-scale invasion in Ukraine. As of January 24, 521 children have been killed and 1,211 more injured
The Office of the Prosecutor General reported the information.
“Over 1,732 children have been injured in Ukraine as a result of Russia's full-scale armed aggression. As of the morning of January 24, 2024, according to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 521 children were killed and more than 1,211 suffered injuries of varying severity," the statement reads.
The majority of children were affected in:
- Donetsk region - 504,
- Kharkiv region - 325,
- Kherson region - 146,
- Kyiv region - 130,
- Dnipropetrovsk region - 111,
- Mykolaiv region - 101,
- Zaporizhzhia region - 100,
- Chernihiv region - 72,
- Luhansk region - 67.
Prosecutors emphasize that these are not the final figures. Efforts are currently underway to establish them in the areas of active hostilities, on the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
