He noted that every day law enforcement officers in the Kharkiv region record 10 to 13 attacks by Russian troops with guided aerial bombs.
According to Tymoshko, on April 23, the Russian Federation struck the region with 11 air bombs, 2 of which were launched at Kharkiv.
The Kharkiv police chief added that Russian strikes were recorded not only in the Saltivskyi district, but also in a forest belt almost in the center of the city.
Since March, Russia has started attacking Kharkiv, which is some 30 kilometers from the Russian border, with one of its deadliest weapons: powerful guided aerial bombs known as glide bombs. They are dropped from fighter jets and carry hundreds of kilograms of explosives in a single explosion.
The Ukrainian authorities have ordered the compulsory evacuation of villages to the east of the city as Russian bombardment campaign escalates.
