At 0:38 a.m., the head of the Kharkiv regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that drone strikes had caused a fire in civilian non-residential infrastructure in the Zmiiv community.
"At least five Shaheds were spotted. There are no casualties at the moment. Do not leave the shelters! Groups of drones continue to move across the Kharkiv region," he wrote.
Later, Syniehubov clarified that rescuers were extinguishing fires in a hotel building, a restaurant's summer terrace and 3 cars.
In addition, a civilian male security guard was injured and received medical assistance on the spot. Other strikes also damaged private residential buildings, a three-story building of a recreation center and a canteen.
At the same time, civilian infrastructure was damaged and destroyed.
Ukrainian air defense destroys 10 Russian Shaheds at night
On the night of February 9, Russian troops launched 16 Shahed attack drones at Ukraine. However, Ukrainian air defense forces repelled the air attack and destroyed 10 UAVs, according to Ukraine’s Air Force.
Russian forces launched 16 drones from Cape Chauda in the occupied Crimea and from the Kursk region in Russia.
As a result of combat operations, 10 drones were destroyed within Mykolaiv, Kherson and Kharkiv regions.
