Work of air defense

Russia attacked Ukraine  with three Kh-22 cruise missiles and the Kh-31P anti-radar missile. It also used an S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile in the Donetsk region and 28 Shahed-136/131 attack drones.

"Anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare equipment of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling the attack," the Air Force wrote.

In total, Ukrainian air defense destroyed 26 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs in the Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Operational Command South’s press center head Natalia Humeniuk stated that Tu-22 aircraft usually carry Kh-22 missiles.

"They are quite old, but still supersonic and difficult for air defense forces to respond to. Obviously, the enemy tried to hit somewhere in the south of Odesa region, the missiles were aimed at Zmiinyi Island and the south of the region, but the goal was not achieved," said Humeniuk.

Explosions in Kharkiv

At 12:11 a.m., Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov reported explosions in the city and urged residents to be careful. Later, he wrote that the Kyivskyi district of the city was hit:

"A restaurant was destroyed, and windows in a neighboring building were smashed. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties or injuries. Relevant services are working at the scene."

In the morning, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, clarified that the Russian army had hit the Kyivskyi district with a Shahed UAV. Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged, including a restaurant, a shop, and office space.
