Russia deliberately targets residential areas in deadly June 17 attack — aviation expert
Russia's latest massive attack was one of the bloodiest since the full-scale war began, with Russian forces deliberately targeting residential areas in Kyiv, Odesa, and other Ukrainian cities
Bohdan Dolintse, aviation expert and member of the public council at the State Aviation Service, said this on Espreso TV.
“We can state that the latest attack was one of the bloodiest. The enemy attacked residential areas specifically, so we see damage to residential buildings in Kyiv, Odesa, and other cities,” Dolintse emphasized.
According to the aviation expert, firstly, Russia is using its weapons indiscriminately.
Secondly, it is using virtually its entire arsenal currently at its disposal. This includes cruise missiles such as the Kh-101 and Kh-55, as well as missiles that have been used before—specifically, Kalibr missiles and air-launched ballistic missiles like the Kinzhal. There is also a possibility that ballistic missiles such as the Iskander-M or KN-23 were used.
“There was also a significant number of drones involved. In addition, there is information about the possible use of jet-powered drones of the Geran-200 series, but this information has not yet been confirmed,” Dolintse added.
On the evening of Monday, June 16, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with strike drones and missiles. The consequences of the shelling are being recorded in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, in Odesa, and in Zaporizhzhia.
