President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this at a press conference, Suspilne reports.

"We saw this attack today. You see who we are dealing with, they don't care where they strike. I know that there were victims today, I don't know all the details yet, but I know that there are dead and wounded," Zelenskyy said.

The president emphasized that Ukraine needs to strengthen its air defense. The Russians don't care whether they hit the military or civilians.

"Russians don't care whether these are military, civilians or international guests. They are either crazy or completely out of control of the fact that their terrorist army is operating. This suggests that we need to defend ourselves first and foremost. The best way to do that is with an air defense system," the Ukrainian president added.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the port of Odesa.

"President Zelenskyy and his staff showed us and explained the importance of the port and what is being done to restore and strengthen the Ukrainian sea route, and the damage that was done during the attacks. At the very end, we heard the sound of sirens and explosions that were very close to us. We did not have time to go to a protected place, it was a very impressive experience," Mitsotakis said.

The air raid alarm in the Odesa region was announced at 10:41 a.m., followed by a powerful explosion. At 10:45 a.m., the Air Force announced a threat of ballistic missile launch.

Later, in a comment to the media, Ukrainian Navy spokesman Captain Dmytro Pletenchuk said that five people were killed in the strike.

"On March 6, the enemy attacked the port infrastructure of the city. There are 5 dead people. Investigation is underway, all the circumstances of another war crime of the Russian Federation are being established," he said in a statement.

  • On the evening of March 5, Russian terrorists launched several groups of Shaheds in Ukraine from different directions. Explosions were heard in some regions at night, and there were hits. As a result of the falling wreckage of downed drones in the Odesa district, another recreational facility, a gas pipeline and private houses were damaged.
