Ukraine's Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko said this.
"The enemy is attacking our energy infrastructure again! Generation facilities and transmission systems in the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, and Kyiv regions have been attacked," the minister said and added that the power sector is already working to eliminate the consequences.
Instead, DTEK, the largest private investor in the energy industry in Ukraine, reports that Russia attacked two of the company's thermal power plants. As a result, the company's equipment was severely damaged.
"After the attack ended, the power engineers promptly began to eliminate the consequences and restore the equipment. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties," DTEK added.
Later, Ukrenergo, an electricity transmission system operator in Ukraine, reported that the Russian army had damaged the company's substations and generation facilities in the Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Lviv, and Kyiv regions.
"Since 06:31, emergency shutdown schedules have been introduced in the Kharkiv region. No consumption restrictions were applied in other regions," the statement says.
