Kherson deploys anti-drone nets over city streets amid Russian UAV threat — local official
Kherson City Council Deputy Oksana Pohomii says that deadly Russian FPV drones have started flying into any district of Kherson
She said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"The situation has really escalated for us, as it has throughout Ukraine. Starting from the Thursday before last, enemy FPV drones have become significantly more active. Enemy artillery is also firing as usual, but previously FPV drones only flew to the conditional 'red line,' as we called it. Now, however, they are flying into any district of the city," Pohomii noted.
According to her, Kherson residents need to constantly look at the sky because of Russian FPV drones.
"But I really hope that our military will come up with something to protect us after all. Of course, there will be no complete protection, but at least partial protection.
At least now I see that in places where there are many people, for example, near a large store, anti-drone netting is stretched over the street. I really hope that this will at least partially help," Pohomii emphasized.
- On Sunday, May 11, Russian forces shelled a residential building in the Korabelnyi district of Kherson, injuring two local residents.
