'It's safari for Russians': Donetsk regional police spokesman on cynical drone strikes on civilians
In populated areas of the Donetsk region, Russia is carrying out drone strikes on private homes and civilian vehicles, targeting people on bicycles, mopeds, and pedestrians
Pavlo Diachenko, head of the communications department of the Donetsk regional police, stated this on Espreso TV.
"The situation in Druzhkivka is very dire right now. Recently, Russian forces have been actively striking this particular town. Of course, they're also striking Kramatorsk and Sloviansk. One of the latest tragic events was a Shahed drone strike on the village of Cherkarske, which killed a small child, with adults and three more children wounded. This was a cynical attack by two Shaheds on two private homes. Also, recently there have been more cases where Russians in Druzhkivka are specifically targeting vehicles. Recently, a man and woman were traveling on business in a minibus, which Russian forces hit with a drone. Unfortunately, the man died, and the woman was taken to the hospital. The situation in Druzhkivka is very tense, with mandatory forced evacuation underway," the Donetsk police spokesman commented.
According to him, Kostiantynivka is heavily destroyed—it's horror, it's hell there. Due to the activity of Russian drones, it's impossible to work freely or evacuate people from the town.
"There have been many attacks specifically on civilians. There was a case where people had an undamaged vehicle and were trying to leave. It's a safari—Russian troops are launching FPV drone strikes on peaceful residents and aren't even ashamed to post this on their social media. They publish it all. One recent event—emergency services workers arrived to extinguish a fire in Druzhkivka: with the first drone, Russian forces disabled the vehicle's movement, and with the second—showing off, very slowly choosing tactics on where to strike—they flew up and burned that vehicle. And there are many such situations where Russian forces strike civilians. In Kostiantynivka they were striking pedestrians, or there were cases of strikes on civilians on bicycles or mopeds. What military component is there in this? The Russian drone operator sees this, they see what's happening," Pavlo Diachenko noted.
