Russian troops used "Easter truce" to clear space for offensive — Ukrainian Volunteer Army
Ukrainian Volunteer Army spokesman Serhiy Bratchuk noted that during the "Easter truce," Russian forces carried out rotational activities across all frontline areas
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
“As for the intensity of fighting during the so-called Easter ceasefire, the Russians carried out rotation measures along all sections of the front. In some areas, they attempted demining and removed equipment destroyed by the Ukrainian Defense Forces to clear space for possible offensive actions,” Bratchuk noted.
According to a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, one assault was registered in the Prydniprovskyi sector yesterday, April 21.
"Speaking of the Zaporizhzhia front, a combat ckash took place in the Orikhiv sector. The aggressors did not achieve any progress, although they tried to do so. In Kherson and Kherson communities, the Russians violated their promise 130 times during the so-called 'truce.' We are talking about the use of FPV drones and artillery shelling," emphasized Bratchuk.
The spokesman for the Ukrainian Volunteer Army also emphasized that the commanders who prepared for Russian actions were not idle. Relevant work, including the engineering of defensive positions, was carried out.
"The enemy has also been amassing assault groups, particularly in the south, to attack our islands. Here, the situation has not changed — Russian troops are trying to reach the right bank, but their actions are quite predictable. We clearly understand what they are doing, and our response will be adequate," Bratchuk summarized.
- Since the beginning of April 21, there have been 56 combat clashes on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back Russian troops in 9 directions.
