Russian troops reinforce defense of Mariupol, fortifying dugouts and training
Advisor to the mayor of Mariupol Petro Andriushchenko said that the Russian forces are constantly training and preparing to repel the offensive of the Ukrainian army
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"The borders in Mariupol are heavily fortified by the occupying Russian forces. The same applies to the north of Donetsk region. The occupiers are fortifying and building defensive structures as much as possible. They have also built a whole network of dugouts. They are installing the so-called dragon's teeth and mining the occupied territories," Andriushchenko said.
The advisor to the mayor added that the occupation forces are intensively preparing for the defense of Mariupol.
"In the Donetsk region, the occupiers are seriously reinforcing their defenses. Now they are urgently trying to make some fortifications along the line from Mariupol to Vuhledar. However, we do not think they will have time to do anything serious in this area. Fortifications in Mariupol itself are a completely different story. The occupiers' garrison, which is supposed to defend the city, is constantly training. They are trained in defensive structures and dugouts. That is, they are preparing for the defense of Mariupol seriously," he added.
