Russian troops launch 1 missile and 37 air strikes, over 40 MLRS attacks and rob civilians in occupation - AFU General Staff

This is stated in the evening report of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff for February 8.

In Novotroitske, Kherson region, Russian troops are conducting ‘filtration’ measures against civilians. This primarily concerns those who worked in Ukrainian state institutions and refuse to cooperate with the occupation administration and go to work. 

In the settlements of Hromivka, Chaplynka, Mala Kardashynka, Zelene, Chulakivka and Novovolodymyrivka, Kherson region, Russian forces conduct daily searches and massively steal household appliances, phones and all valuables.

Ukrainian Armed Forces hit Russian personnel concentrations, ammunition depots and air defense systems

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation launched 21 strikes on Russian personnel and military equipment concentrations and 3 strikes on air defense systems.

Moreover, Ukrainian artillery and rocket launchers hit 2 Russian control points, 2 manpower concentrations, an ammunition depot and a fuel and lubricants depot.

The missile strike hit the civilian infrastructure of Sloviansk, Donetsk region.

In addition, MLRS attacks hit the civilian infrastructure of Beryslav and Komyshany, Kherson region. 

The General Staff reported that the Russian army continues to focus its main efforts on conducting offensive operations at the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka directions.

The situation on the northern and northeastern border with Belarus and Russia remained unchanged, no signs of offensive groups forming were detected. More than 30 settlements came under fire in Sumy and Kharkiv regions. Russian troops launched air strikes near Kozacha Lopan and Oliynykove, Kharkiv region.

The situation in other directions is as follows:

In Kupiansk and Lyman directions, more than 15 settlements in Kharkiv and Luhansk regions came under Russian fire. 

In the Bakhmut direction, in total, more than 20 settlements in the Donetsk region were shelled by Russian troops. They also launched air strikes near Ivanivske.

In Avdiivka nd Vuhledar directions, 10 settlements in the Donetsk region came under fire. Russian air strikes were recorded near Avdiivka and Mariinka. 

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, 2 settlements in the Donetsk region and 8 more in the Zaporizhzhia region were hit by Russian fire. 

In the Kherson direction, 9 settlements of the Kherson region and Kherson city were shelled by Russian forces.

Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a Russian unit as a result of a successful counteroffensive on the outskirts of Bakhmut.
