The State Border Guard Service says that since morning Russian troops have been massively shelling Bakhmut and trying to push through the flanks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces defense, but Ukrainian soldiers are holding the line

Bakhmut is reportedly being shelled mainly with artillery and mortars, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces are doing everything to prevent Russian troops from entering the city.
"Today, March 6, the weather in Bakhmut is fine, but unfortunately, the city has been under fire since the morning. It is mostly mortars and artillery. They are trying to push through our flanks, but the State Border Guard Service together with their comrades-in-arms are standing firmly on their positions. We are doing everything to keep the enemy out of the city. Because Bakhmut is Ukraine. It has been and it will be," the statement said.

Volodymyr Nazarenko, a fighter with the Svoboda battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine, noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are inflicting significant and noticeable losses on Russian troops in the Bakhmut direction.
