Russian troops have no prospects to capture Avdiivka — General Malomuzh
General of the Army of Ukraine, Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine in 2005-2010 Mykola Malomuzh believes that Russia failed to use all its capabilities to advance on the Avdiivka and Kupyansk directions
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"Russia failed to use all the opportunities to advance in the Avdiivka and Kupyansk directions. The type of resources they have is insufficient. The enemy tried to deploy special forces, but they failed to fulfill the task of capturing Avdiivka, even after sending ten times more forces and troops. Putin's task has not been accomplished, and the enemy has no prospects of capturing Avdiivka," suggested Malomuzh.
According to the general, Russian troops are now maneuvering near Stepove and are trying to advance in the industrial zone and then move in the direction of the Avdiivka Coke Plant.
"However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have recaptured the spoil tip by conducting a series of side attacks and flanking strikes, which has significantly weakened the enemy's offensive potential. A number of our commanders noted that the Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped the enemy. Huge losses of Russians near Avdiivka have a powerful effect on their morale and stop the enemy," emphasized Malomuzh.
- Vladyslav Seleznov, military expert, and former spokesman for the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces noted that there is not a single quiet area along the entire contact line.
- Ukrainian troops repelled 57 attacks by Russian occupying troops in the Avdiivka direction over the last day and eliminated 1,300 Russian soldiers and 10 tanks.
