Russian troops dress as civilians to infiltrate Ukrainian lines — Ukrainian captain

Captain Volodymyr Nazarenko, head of artillery intelligence of Ukraine's 4th "Rubizh" brigade of the National Guard, shared the information with Espreso TV.

"Russians often disguise themselves in civilian clothing to infiltrate the rear of our units. This is not a new tactic for them. It happened back in 2022 in Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk regions, and in many other sectors of the front. From the very first day of the full-scale invasion, they have used this method. The enemy does not comply with any rules or conventions. However, when a Russian is dressed in civilian clothing but carrying a rifle and body armor, it’s clear that he is an occupier. Such cases occur quite often on the front line," Nazarenko said.

The National Guard captain stressed that Ukraine’s Defense Forces are doing everything possible to prevent the enemy from advancing deeper into Ukrainian territory.

"Individual enemy units constantly resort to such methods. However, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are prepared for any provocations and are taking all necessary measures to ensure that such sabotage groups have no chance of advancing," he added.
