"Russian troops believe in strength of their defense, but more in AFU": Humeniuk explains why they actively dig trenches in Crimea
Spokeswoman for the southern military command Natalia Humeniuk said that Russian military is setting up defense lines deeper in direction of Crimea because they understand that Ukraine will fight for every piece of its land.
Head of the joint press center of Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Natalia Humeniuk, said on Channel 24.
"Russian occupying forces are setting up significant defense lines deeper in direction of Crimea. This is probably why they are being blown up from the peninsula. Everything is not so peaceful there. We simply reminded one more time that Crimea is Ukraine. We are fighting for every piece of our land," she said.
She also noted that Russian troops prepare for a counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces: they actively dig a system of trenches in the area south of Armyansk.
"Undoubtedly, Russian forces believe in the strength of their defense, but in essence and content they believe more in Ukrainian Armed Forces," Natalia Humeniuk added.
