Russian troops advance in 3 directions, Ukraine's Armed Forces repel attacks on 15 settlements - General Staff

Russian troops are advancing in the Lyman, Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions, but Ukrainian defenders have repelled enemy attacks on 15 settlements.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on Facebook. 

Ukraine's Armed Forces repelled enemy attacks on 15 settlements, and also hit 4 of the Russian forces' control points and 3 military positions

The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks near the settlements of Lyman Pershyi, Kharkiv region, Stelmakhivka, Novoselivske, Ploshanka, and Chervonopopivka, Luhansk region, as well as Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Kurdiumivka, Krasnohorivka, Vesele, and Marinka, Donetsk region. 

During the day of December 14, Ukrainian aviation made 4 strikes on the areas where the invading Russian forces were concentrated. Ukrainian defenders hit 4 enemy control points and 3 military positions. They also inform about the attack on the S-300 anti-aircraft missile complex and 3 more important objects of the occupiers.

On December 24, Russian troops launched 5 missile strikes, 1 airstrike, and 90 MLRS attacks

During the day of December 24, occupying Russian forces launched 5 missile strikes, 1 airstrike, as well as 90 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). 

Kherson came under enemy MLRS attacks, and civilians were killed.

The Russian forces continue to strengthen regime and administrative measures in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region 

In Vasylivka, Zaporizhzhia region, the Russian military imposed a curfew for a week: the restrictions will be applied from December 28 this year to January 4, 2023.

Emergency services workers will receive special passes, and other local residents are prohibited from leaving their homes and moving around the settlement.

The situation in the main directions:

The Russian forces concentrated on offensive actions in the Lyman, Bakhmut, and Avdiivka directions. They did not stop trying to improve the tactical position in the Kupiansk direction.

On the border with Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly: the enemy maintains a military presence, but no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups have been detected.

In the northeastern Ukrainian border in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, the invading forces shelled the civilian infrastructure of Vyntorivka, Ryzhivka and Vorozhba, Kozacha Lopan, Ternova, Starytsia, Kudiivka, Vovchans and 10 more settlements. 

In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian enemy shelled the areas of Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Kupiansk, Kislivka, Tabaivka, Kotliarivka, and Krokhmalne, Kharkiv region, and Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, and Miasozharivka, Luhansk region

In the Lyman direction, Makiivka, Ploshanka, Chervonopopivka, Dibrova, as well as Terny came under fire.

In the Bakhmut direction of the Donetsk region, Russian troops shelled the settlements of Spirne, Zvanivka, Berestovka, Bilohorivka, Vesele, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Pidhorodne, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Opytne, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Bila Hora, Diliivka, New York, as well as 5 more settlements. 

In the Avdiivka direction of the Donetsk region, Vesele, Kamianka, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Heorhiivka, Marinka, and Novomykhailivka came under fire. 

In the Vuhledar direction of the Donetsk region, the Russian enemy shelled the Ukrainian troops' positions near Vugledar, Prechystivka, Novoukrainka, Velyka Novosilka, and Vremivka with tanks and the entire spectrum of artillery.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the areas of the settlements of Malynivka, Chervone, Dorozhnianka, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanilivka, Orikhiv, Mali Shcherbaky, Stepove, Kamianske, Marhanets, and Nikopol were affected by artillery shelling.

In the Kherson direction, Russian shelling of civilian infrastructure continues. Amont them are the settlements of Chervonohryorivka, Burhunka, Antonivka, and Kherson. There are injured civilians.
