Russian subversive group tries to infiltrate Chernihiv region: border guards repel attack
Ukrainian border guards repelled an attempt to infiltrate an Russian subversive reconnaissance group in the northern direction: saboteurs tried to enter the Novhorod-Siverskyi territorial community
This was reported by the Commander of the Joint Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev.
"A sentry of an observation post noticed two armed militant groups approaching the control line from different sides. A small arms fire started," the statement reads.
Border guards launched an artillery strike against Russian saboteurs. At the same time, an anti-sabotage reserve with aerial surveillance units moved to the state border.
According to preliminary information, the subversive groups consisted of five and seven Russian soldiers. They suffered losses in wounded and killed and withdrew.

In July, Russian subversive reconnaissance groups attempted to cross the Russian-Ukrainian border four times in Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
