Russian Strela plant significantly damaged in latest strike – Defense Express
Valeriy Ryabykh, a military expert at Defense Express, says that 243 companies of the Russian corporation Rostec are helping to strengthen Russia's military, according to Ukrainian military intelligence. One of these companies is the Strela plant
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"The Strela factory in Bryansk is not about electronics, but electrotechnics: electric coils, various chokes — components used for military purposes, like in EW systems, radar, and communication devices. There's no doubt this facility is a legitimate target for Ukraine's Defense Forces," commented the military expert.
He added that even the Russians are unsure about what exactly hit the factory. At first, social media posts mentioned a rocket launcher (MLRS) strike, but later reports talked about a large drone attack.
"An objective analysis shows that the damage is significant, as confirmed by eyewitnesses in Russia. One of the public groups even claims that the facility was destroyed and won't be able to resume operations immediately. It's worth noting that the Strela factory belongs to the state corporation Rostec. The majority of Rostec enterprises are increasing the military capabilities of the aggressor state. The Ukrainian Intelligence Directorate has identified 243 such enterprises. Accordingly, there are hundreds of similar targets in Russia, which will face a similar fate," summarized Valeriy Ryabykh.
- On May 4, reports said that several workshops at the Strela plant in Russia’s Bryansk region, which makes electronics for the military-industrial complex and works with the Rostec corporation, burned down after shelling. Two people were injured.
