Russian soldiers tunnel toward Ukrainian military positions in Avdiivka area
Anton Kotsukon, spokesperson for the 110th detached mechanized brigade, has revealed that Russian soldiers are digging tunnels towards the Ukrainian Armed Forces' positions in the Avdiivka area
He made this announcement on the United News national telethon.
This tactic is being used for surprise subterranean attacks and as a camouflage strategy, according to Kotsukon.
Fierce fighting near Avdiivka is ongoing daily, with a recent decrease in the scale and intensity of the battles. Nevertheless, Russian forces persist in their attempts to capture Ukrainian positions.
Russian military strikes Avdiivka: civilians injured
The Donetsk regional prosecutor's office spokesperson, Anastasia Miedviedieva, reported that Russian troops shelled Avdiivka on the morning of October 21, 2023, using artillery. Preliminary information indicates that a 35-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman sustained injuries from the shelling.
Both injured individuals were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
In response to this incident, the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office has initiated a pre-trial investigation for violations of the laws and customs of war.
On the same day, around 11:35 a.m., Russia launched an attack on the Kherson region, resulting in injuries to a local resident.
