Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov reveals that.
"The invaders can't handle the resistance from Ukrainians or the desertion of their soldiers. That's why they're ramping up searches and interrogations," he reported.
Fedorov mentions that Russian invaders are actively searching for underground movements. Following successful strikes by the Armed Forces against occupiers last week, the Russians launched another wave of infiltration among the civilian population.
He notes that the occupiers have set up mobile roadblocks, foot patrols, house searches, interrogations in torture chambers, and detentions in basements.
Russians are also on the lookout for their military fugitives.
"Residents report that recently in the village of Nove near Melitopol, an enemy patrol was checking men in cars, not for documents, but for the ability to say the Ukrainian word ‘palyanytsia.’ Russians can't say it, so they might have looked for their deserters."
