Oleg Sinegubov, the head of the Kharkiv Administration, informed about this in telegram.
"We appeal to the residents of Kharkiv: stay in shelters. Russian enemy is striking the regional center," Sinegubov wrote.
The air alert in the Kharkiv region began at 20:50.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov wrote in telegram that there are power outages in the city.
"At least two shellings in Kharkiv. There are problems with electricity supply in some areas of the city," the message says.
