Russian night drone assault thwarted: Ukrainian Air Defenses down 78 of 83 UAVs
In the early hours of Sunday, July 27, Russian occupiers once again launched a drone strike against Ukraine. Ukrainian air defenders successfully took down 78 Russian aerial targets

Starting at 22:30 on July 26, Russia launched 83 Shahed attack drones and various types of decoy UAVs from Oryol, Kursk, Shatalovo, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from Hvardiyske in occupied Crimea. Air Defense Forces reported this.
The attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
As of 10:30, 78 Russian drones were downed across the north, south, east, and central regions of the country.
- A total of 5 drones were hit in 3 locations during the night; debris from downed drones landed in two areas. As of the morning of July 27, damage was reported in the Sumy, Dnipro, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions.
