The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia launched drones from two directions - Balaklava, in Crimea, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Krasnodar Krai.

"A total of 46 Shahed-136/131 launches were recorded, which attacked in waves at different times, from 7:00 p.m. on December 26 to 3:50 a.m. on December 27," the statement reads.

It is known that most of the drones that failed to be shot down attacked frontline areas, in particular Kherson region. A few more UAVs fell without causing any damage.

Instead, air defense was operating in Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson, Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, and Kirovohrad regions.

The head of the Dnipro Regional Council, Mykola Lukashuk, said that air defense forces had destroyed 13 Russian Shahed drones over the region.

Odesa region

"The wreckage of the downed UAVs fell on one of the uninhabited new buildings," the Southern Defense Forces claimed in a statement.

It is noted that the drone shot down in the air fell on country houses in the suburbs of Odesa.

According to Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, two people were killed. "One person died on the spot, another man, who was taken to the hospital in serious condition, died," the official wrote. A 17-year-old teenager was injured and is in hospital. Another man and one woman are receiving outpatient treatment.

Earlier, the Southern Defense Forces reported one dead and three wounded.

Vinnytsia region

According to Ukraine's Southern Defense Forces, the wreckage of the downed Shahed also fell in a field in Vinnytsia region.

"That is why the fall of debris on residential areas causes fires and destruction!" - explained the military.

Kherson and region.

"In the evening, the Russian troops shelled Antonivka with artillery, injuring one person," writes Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.

During the night, Russian troops also shelled Kherson. As a result, a shopping center, a garage, a shop, a mobile shelter and cars were damaged.

In addition, the Russian forces attacked a research institution territory in Kherson district. One person was killed.

Kherson regional administration head Oleksandr Prokudin said that Russian shelling had severely damaged Kherson's energy infrastructure. 70% of residents are left without electricity.

"Electricians are already working. Now they are assessing the extent of the damage, and then immediately begin emergency repair work. It's hard to say when they will complete. However, experts are doing everything possible to restore power as soon as possible," he added.

  • On the evening of December 26, Russian shelling damaged the Kherson railway station and Ukrzaliznytsia rolling stock. About 140 people were waiting to be evacuated at the station.
