Russian night attack: industrial facility hit in Mykolaiv region, port infrastructure and buildings damaged in Odesa region

This is reported by the local authorities.

Mykolaiv region 

Four Shahed kamikaze drones were destroyed in the Mykolaiv region, as reported by Vitaliy Kim, the head of Mykolaiv regional military administration. 

Around 01:50, an industrial building was hit in the city, causing a fire, but there have been no casualties.

During the night, Vitaliy Kim updated on the fire situation: "We are currently extinguishing the fire. No one has been injured so far." Mayor  of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Sienkevych also confirmed that the fire is quite serious.

He stated, "There was a fire at one of the buildings, and it's a serious situation. The State Emergency Service rescuers are on-site."

Odesa region

Vladyslav Nazarov, the spokesperson for the Operational Command South, reported that six Kalibr missiles were launched at Odesa from the Black Sea. Ukrainian air defense destroyed these missiles.

However, the debris from the intercepted missiles and the shockwave from the explosion caused damage to the port facilities and several buildings. Additionally, an elderly man in one of the houses got hurt and was taken to the hospital.

During the night, Oleh Kiper, the head of Odesa regional military administration, stated that Russia is attacking the south of Ukraine, “The terrorist country is launching attack drones and possibly planning multiple waves of attacks. There is also a risk of missile threats.”

Dnipropetrovsk region

Serhiy Lysak, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, said that Shahed drones were detected in the region, but they were downed by the Air Command East.

During the night, the AFU Air Force warned about possible attacks.

They mentioned that there could be “a combined attacks using attack UAVs in various regions like Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Dnipropetrovsk.” There was also a threat of ballistic weapons in the Poltava, Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Kirovohrad regions.

The Air Force reported on the air defense's actions, and journalists from Suspilne wrote about a series of explosions in Odesa and Mykolaiv regions.

At 04:11, an air alert was lifted in the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, and a minute later in Odesa. Around 04:30, it was lifted in other regions.

• On the night of July 18, the Ukrainian air defense successfully destroyed 25 Shahed drones and 6 Kalibr missiles. These missiles were launched by the Russian army after the drone attack.
