Russian missiles cause almost UAH 34 billion of damage to environment in Lviv region
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 34 cases of damage to the environment have been recorded in the Lviv region due to the impact of enemy missiles or the fall of their fragments
This was reported by the State Environmental Inspection in the Lviv region, Espreso reports.
“In each of the cases, specialists of the State Environmental Inspection in the Lviv region were involved by law enforcement agencies as specialists in criminal proceedings, which is provided for in Article 71 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, to document the facts of damage to the surrounding natural environment,” the report says.
Specialists examined the territories and objects that were damaged, took 242 soil samples and 123 water samples. In addition, they carried out appropriate measurements and calculations in order to determine the amount of damages.
According to the calculations of the State Environmental Inspection, the amount of damage caused to the environment of the region as a result of the military aggression of the Russian Federation is 33 billion 820 million 73 thousand hryvnias. In particular, of them:

32 billion 216 million 251 thousand 944 hryvnias - damage caused to land resources as a result of soil contamination;

1 billion 601 million 209 thousand 165 hryvnias - damage caused to land resources as a result of soil pollution;

2 million 205 thousand 301 hryvnias - damages caused to the atmospheric air as a result of objects catching fire and, therefore, polluting substances entering the air;

406 thousand 643 hryvnias - damages caused by the destruction or damage of greenery.
