Russian military steps up presence in Zaporizhzhia direction — troops, fuel, and ammunition on the move
Petro Andryushchenko, head of the Center for the Study of the Occupation, noted that in the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian forces are trying to build up reserves for future assault operations
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"The main news is the enemy's military movements, which we've been tracking over the past week. The Zaporizhzhia direction is being actively reinforced, but we can't yet determine whether it's the Berdyansk or Rozivka agglomeration that is being stocked up. A large amount of fuel is being transported to both areas. Unlike previous years, when it was moved in small tankers, now it's being delivered in large tankers under organized convoys. Additionally, a significant number of trucks carrying ammunition are on the move. We're also seeing a major increase in enemy manpower," said Petro Andryushchenko.
According to him, over the weekend of March 29-30, Russian troop columns were spotted arriving via the Berdyansk direction towards Prymorsk and Tokmak. In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian forces are clearly working to form reserves for further assault operations.
"There is also some good news. We're observing a considerable amount of enemy equipment being pulled back from the Zaporizhzhia direction. Tanks and infantry fighting vehicles are being moved to the Ilyich plant because they are damaged and need repairs. Meanwhile, the hospital in Mariupol, the largest in the Azov area, is completely full of wounded soldiers, who continue to be transported there from the Zaporizhzhia direction. This means the Russians have been hit hard there," he noted.
- On March 31, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that in the past day alone, 171 combat clashes took place along the Russian-Ukrainian front. In the Hulyaipole direction, Russian forces launched two attacks near Pryvilne and towards Vilne Pole. In the Orikhiv direction, they attacked Ukrainian defensive positions four times near Mali Shcherbaky and Stepove.
