Russian military forces Energodar residents to vote in "referendum", threaten mobilization for refusal - intelligence
The Russian army is forcing Energodar residents to "vote" in a fake referendum, threatening them with mobilization if they refuse
The Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense reported this on Telegram.
According to intelligence, the Russian military is patrolling the streets of the city with questionnaires for voting in the so-called "referendum". The Russian occupiers threaten passers-by with weapons, issue "bulletins", and show where to put a mark.
At the same time, cases were recorded when the Russian occupiers forced people to "vote" for long-dead relatives.
Those who refuse to vote or vote against "joining the Russian Federation" are threatened with mobilization by the Russian invaders.
"Currently, the streets of the city and surrounding settlements are practically empty. The local population is sitting at home, trying not to go out unless absolutely necessary," the intelligence reports.
In addition, the Russian occupiers forbade the residents of Energodar to leave the territory controlled by Ukraine and generally outside the city limits. Special control is applied to operational shift workers of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
