Russian military drop tear gas into Ukrainian trenches from drones - CNN
Russian forces are using poison gas as a weapon in the Zaporizhzhia sector
This was reported by CNN.
A Ukrainian paramedic said that in recent weeks, nine incidents have been recorded when the Russian military used drones to drop caustic and flammable gas on Ukrainian positions. This resulted in the death of one soldier.
The injured Ukrainian soldiers say that the enemy uses gas to cause panic, and then the usual shelling or UAV attacks begin.
"At first I saw smoke. We ran out of the trench and the gas suddenly caught fire. The trench was on fire. This gas burns you, blinds you, you can't breathe, it immediately shoots into your throat. We didn't even have a second," the victim said.
A representative of Ukrainian intelligence explained that the substance used by Russia was a type of CS gas. It is a tear gas, a chemical compound that can temporarily disable a person by irritating the eyes, nose, lungs and skin.
It is noted that the UN Chemical Weapons Convention prohibits the use of riot control agents in time of war.
- Earlier, National Resistance Center reported that the Russian military in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region is increasing the number of special forces to search for the Ukrainian underground.
