The report says that on the eve of the 78th anniversary of Victory Day, a group of Ukrainian saboteurs made an attempt to destroy over 30 pylons of the power lines connected to the Leningrad and Kalinin Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs). Allegedly, the Ukrainian special services had planned for this act to cause a shutdown of the nuclear reactors and disrupt the regular operation of the power plants. “The terrorists have managed to detonate one pylon and planted explosive devices under four pylons of the Leningrad NPP, while they also placed explosive devices under seven pillars of the Kalinin NPP,” the message said.
The special services have announced the arrest of two Ukrainians. Another Ukrainian citizen and a Russian citizen, who is currently in Belgium, are wanted for involvement in the plot. It is alleged that these individuals were recruited by Ukrainian intelligence and received training in camps located in the Kyiv and Mykolaiv regions.
According to the report, the perpetrators illegally crossed the Russian-Belarusian border in the Pskov region, having traveled from Ukraine through Poland and Belarus as part of their transit route. Two additional accomplices, who were Russian citizens and assisted in providing communication and transportation, were also apprehended. Further investigations are ongoing, with the search for the organizers and all other individuals involved still in progress.
