Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry threatens NATO with a clash between nuclear powers with grave consequences

Deputy Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Ryabkov has stated that the use of nuclear weapons is possible, even in response to the use of conventional weapons against the Russian Federation.

This is reported by the Russian mass media.

According to Ryabkov, Russia allows a nuclear response in response to aggression using weapons of mass destruction and even conventional weapons.

"Russia hypothetically allows a nuclear response in response to aggression with the use of weapons of mass destruction against the country itself or its allies. Nuclear weapons can also be used in response to aggression using conventional weapons, when the very existence of the state is threatened. The use of nuclear weapons by Russia is possible only in order to respond to an attack - for self-defense in emergency situations," said Ryabkov.

According to him, the actions of NATO countries can lead to further escalation in Ukraine and a direct confrontation between nuclear powers.

"The destructive course of the NATO countries to ignore our red lines and get involved in a confrontation with Russia in Ukraine, balancing on the edge of a direct armed conflict, is extremely risky. It is obvious that this can lead to further escalation up to a military confrontation of nuclear states with grave consequences," - warned Ryabkov.
