Russian forces try to surround Avdiivka, using ‘meat waves’ tactics
Major Maksym Morozov, a fighter with the Freedom Legion, says that the invading Russian forces are trying to cut the road to Avdiivka
He said this on Espreso TV.
"Heavy assault actions by the enemy continue. From the south and north of Avdiivka, the enemy is trying to encircle the city. They are trying to cut the only road leading to the city. The Russian forces are using aviation, and airstrikes are taking place every day. The invaders are hitting Avdiivka Coke Plant with great force, trying to level it to the ground. Avdiivka power distribution zone is being heavily hit," Morozov emphasized.
According to him, the aggressor is launching airstrikes on the village of Lastochkine, located south of Avdiivka.
"Having captured Lastochkine, they can reach the road to Avdiivka and cut it off. The enemy is also trying to enter from the north through Stepove to Berdychi. By cutting the road they can say that Avdiivka is surrounded. The enemy attacks are of varying intensity. These attacks may vary from 15 Russian soldiers and to "meat wave" assaults involving up to 300 soldiers and 20 pieces of equipment," Morozov emphasized.
