Russian forces try to exhaust Ukrainian air defense with Shahed attacks - military expert Zgurets

Defense Express CEO Serhiy Zgurets says invading Russian forces usually use three elements of attacks on Ukraine

He said this on Espreso TV.

“The enemy usually uses three elements of attacks on Ukraine: taking an aircraft into the air with Kinzhal missiles, which forces us to activate radar surveillance to activate air defense systems. Next, the enemy tries to attack the identified targets with Shahed UAVs. But the main purpose of these drones is to exhaust the anti-aircraft systems covering Kyiv. When an enemy missile carrier takes off, we quickly relocate our air defense systems, they are in constant motion so that the enemy does not discover their location. After the downing of Shahed, the enemy believes that the capabilities of our air defense have decreased and that cruise missiles, which are guaranteed to be shot down by our air defense, can be used,” Zgurets explained.

According to the expert, Russian Kh-22 missiles cause the most destruction.

“The enemy can also use S-300 and S-400 missiles to attack Kyiv. The enemy can use the S-400 under the cover of cruise missiles from the territory of the Russian Federation or from the territory of Belarus,” Zgurets added.
