One missile fired by Russian forces hit near a residential high-rise building in Kharkiv's Nemyshlianskyi district.
Three people died as a result of the shelling. They were all outside when the rocket hit. The blast wave also damaged windows in apartments on all nine floors in at least three entrances.
According to the preliminary conclusions of explosives technicians, the Russian army struck with a Uragan missile with a high-explosive charge.
Serhiy Bolvinov, the head of the Kharkiv Police Investigation Department, said that, in addition to the dead, at least five people were injured.
Investigators are working on the spot.
Earlier, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Synyehubov spoke about the three victims.
"We ask the residents of Kharkiv to be as careful as possible, do not be on the streets of the city without an urgent need. The enemy strikes insidiously, hitting residential areas and civilian infrastructure," - Synyehubov commented.
