Russian forces rebel, kill their own colonel Yuriy Medvedev who fought in Kyiv region - Politico
Russian forces ran over their own commander with a tank to avenge the loss of half the brigade on the battlefield in Ukraine.
Politico shared the details, citing western officials.
"The Russian brigade commander was killed by his own troops, in our opinion, due to massive losses of his team," said one of the officials.
Confirmation came after the Ukrainian journalist Roman Tsymbalyuk publication, where he said that the Russian military is outraged with a 50% loss level unit, which was transferred to the Kyiv region during the fighting in March.
One soldier driving a tank deliberately hit a commander. The video later showed how the commander was carried on a stretcher for treatment in Belarus. Both of his legs were seriously injured and he died.
Western high-ranking officials also confirm that a Russian lieutenant general who commanded the 49th Army was killed in the fighting.
