Russian forces launch missile strikes on Kharkiv causing fire in administration building, killing one person

Kharkiv mayor Igor Terekhov and the head of Kharkiv regional military administration Oleg Synegubov shared the news.

As of 7:16, Oleg Synegubov reported that after Russian forces hit a hostel in the Slobidsky district, 18 people were injured, including 2 children, and one person died.

"In the Slobidsky district, after the morning shelling of a dormitory, 16 victims were injured, including two children. All were taken to hospitals. According to the State Emergency Service, one person died there. The area of ​​the fire is 800 square meters. In the Kholodnohir district, there was a very large fire in an administrative building. Its area is more than 4,500 square meters," Igor Terekhov wrote on Telegram.

According to the city mayor, as a result of the shelling in the city, the administration building and cars located nearby caught fire.

"There is a very big fire in the Kholodnohirsky district after the shelling. The administrative building is on fire. According to the leadership of the State Emergency Service, it has started to collapse. About a dozen cars are also on fire near this building," the mayor said.

As of 5:42 Oleg Synegubov reported that 5 people were injured after a Russian missile hit the Slobidsky district of Kharkiv.

Previously, the mayor of Kharkiv reported on 5 arrivals in the Slobidsky and Kholodnohirsky districts of the city.

"At 4:32, the first, and then at least four more rockets hit Kharkiv. It flew to the Slobidsky and Kholodnohirsky districts. There was a fire in one of the places where the rockets hit," he said.

As of 5:15, there was information that 2 people were injured, including a child.

"As a result of the hits, there are several fires, so far we know about 2 victims, among them is a child. All specialized services are working on the ground," the head of the region said.
