Russian forces launch missile attack on humanitarian convoy leaving Zaporizhzhia, killing 23 people and injuring 28 more
Around 7:00 a.m. on September 30, occupiers fired rockets at a humanitarian convoy that was heading out of Zaporizhzhia, killing 23 people and injuring another 28
Oleksandr Starukh, the head of Zaporizhzhya Administration, announced this in a telegram.
"Currently, we know about 23 dead and 28 wounded. All civilians, our compatriots," he emphasized.
Before that, Anatoly Kurtev, secretary of the Zaporizhia City Council, reported on the dead and wounded in a telegram.
"At around 7:00 a.m. today, Zaporizhzhia was brutally attacked by the enemy. After some time, a second attack was carried out. There are dead and wounded. Ordinary civilians who were standing in a column to leave for the occupied territory," he noted.
Mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov added that people leave Zaporizhzhia for the occupied territories every day to deliver vital medicines to civilians, support relatives and return back.
"For now, it is impossible to even count the number of dead and wounded people. Among the victims are Melitopol citizens," noted Ivan Fedorov.
Earlier, leader Oleksandr Starukh announced the missile attack in a telegram.
"The enemy launched a rocket attack on the outskirts of the regional center. According to preliminary information, there are casualties. Relevant services are working at the scene," he emphasized.
