Russian forces hold 80 vessels with Ukrainian grain - Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy
Russians detain more than 80 vessels that are to deliver Ukrainian grain to Europe and Asia within the grain initiative
This is reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Markiyan Dmytrasevych noted that 80 ships are waiting for three-five weeks to pass the so-called inspection. Dmytrasevych claims Ukraine has repeatedly proposed changes in the work of inspections. For instance, to increase the number of teams that carry out such inspections. Also, cancel the inspection of vessels for "exit," as they are already inspected for "entry." However, Russia has differing views on these conditions.
"There are several initiatives that were also announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. First of all, it is important for us that the grain initiative is not extended every time for 4 months. For this, it should be done for at least a year and indefinitely at best. This would signal to the market and our farmers that they can export their products," Dmytrasevych said.
"We propose to expand the grain geography initiative to Mykolaiv ports. Constant consultations on these issues continue," he added.
