Russian forces evict 200 patients of psycho-neurological facility in Zaporizhzhia region to accommodate their wounded – General Staff

In the village of Pokazne, Zaporizhzhia region, Russian troops took about 200 patients from a psycho-neurological facility to an unknown destination. They plan to turn a civilian medical facility into another military hospital

This is stated in the evening report of Ukraine’s General Staff on July 15.

"Russian enemy continues to use civilian healthcare facilities in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine for its own purposes. In particular, it has been established that in the village of Pokazne, Zaporizhzhia region, about 200 patients were taken from the building of the Mykhailivskyi psychoneurological institution to an unknown destination, and the staff was dismissed," the statement said.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added that in the future, a military hospital is planned to be located on the territory and in the premises of the institution to treat wounded Russian soldiers.

Ukrainian aviation carried out 9 strikes on areas of Russian personnel concentration 

Ukrainian troops also targeted 6 enemy reconnaissance UAVs over the day.

Missile and artillery units destroyed 2 ammunition depots, 4 artillery pieces at firing positions and 2 enemy air defence systems over the day.

There were 28 combat engagements on the frontlines. The situation in Ukrainian regions 

The Russian enemy is attacking in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions. There were 28 combat engagements over the last day.

The situation on the northern Ukrainian border remained unchanged. No signs of formation of offensive groups were detected. Designated units of the Armed Forces of Belarus are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, Russia continued shelling the entire border line with mortars and artillery: over 20 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

Russian attacks in other frontline regions

Ukrainian troops are holding steadfast in the Kupiansk direction. Over the last day, the Russian enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives south of Novoselivske in Luhansk region; launched an air strike in the same area. 5 settlements in the Kharkiv region came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian army conducted offensives east of Vesele in the Donetsk region over the course of the day. It carried out air strikes in 2 settlements in the Luhansk region and 3 settlements in Donetsk region. Five more settlement came under artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled all Russian attacks in the area south-west of Andriivka, Donetsk region. The Russian enemy launched an air strike near Diliyivka, Donetsk region. More than 10 localities suffered from enemy artillery shelling, 

In the Avdiivka direction, the Russian forces had unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Pervomaiske and launched an air strike near New York, Donetsk region. At the same time, Russia shelled over 10 settlements 

In the Marinka direction, the Ukrainian Defence Forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive near Marinka. The Russian enemy launched an air strike there; fired at more than 10 settlements. 

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops conducted an offensive in the area of Novomykhailivka and launched an air strike near Blahodatne in the Donetsk region; fired at 4 settlements. 

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russia’s main focus is preventing further advance of Ukrainian troops. Russian forces launched an air strike near Mykilske in the Kherson region.

Russia attacked Ukrainian territory with 2 Shahed drones and 2 anti-aircraft missiles

During the day, the Russian army launched a missile and air strike with two Iranian-made Shahed strike UAVs and two anti-aircraft guided missiles against Ukraine. As a result of successful combat operations by Ukraine's air defence, two attack UAVs were destroyed.

In addition, the Russian forces carried out 32 air strikes and fired 15 times from multiple launch rocket systems.

  • On 14 July, 32 combat engagements took place between Ukrainian troops and Russian forces. Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched 13 strikes on the Russian forces’ concentration areas and targeted 9 Russian artillery systems.
