Russian forces don't want to show ‘gestures of goodwill’ in Luhansk direction - Zhurets
Serhii Zhurets, director of the Defense Express information and consulting company, analyzes the situation in the Luhansk region
When we talked last week about the Svatove-Kreminna area, we emphasized that the Ukrainian army is trying to break a road between these settlements. This week, our troops have withdrawn and are on the defensive, and the Russian enemy has transferred a significant number of mobilized soldiers to this area.

The map shows Makiivka, in the direction of which the Russian forces tried to launch a counterattack. Let me remind you of the story about 500 mobilized soldiers from the Voronezh region, so this is exactly the area where the Russian enemy tried to conduct a counterattack with mobilized forces. Such a case shows that unprepared units rush, accordingly, the enemy suffers significant losses. In addition, good weather is forecast during the week, so we can expect our further actions to bypass Svatove or Kreminna in order to break through the enemy's defense line. This is important for us, because after breaking through natural obstacles, namely the road and the prevailing heights, we need to dislodge the enemy's line of defense in order to move to Starobilsk, but the Russian forces are still resisting due to the trained personnel. Therefore, I think that for now there is a certain pause, but in a week it will be no less hot.
So far, the enemy does not want to show ‘gestures of goodwill’, and with a counterattack on Bilohorivka, the enemy is somehow trying to compensate for the pressure of the Ukrainian army, but these are impulsive and hysterical actions. In any case, we are talking about the fact that we have a significant number of personnel and choose the right moment to carry out a further attack and not engage in frontal attacks, but bet on artillery. And then, when there will be a pause that will meet the weather conditions for the offensive, I think that we will conduct an offensive in this area in order to implement our plan.
