Russian forces deploy 200 troops in children's camp in Urzuf – General Staff

In the temporarily occupied Urzuf, Mariupol district, Russian army deployed 200 soldiers on the territory of a children's camp to use kids as human shields

The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces shared the update in the evening report for April 25.

"The enemy continues to use children's educational institutions of the temporarily occupied and seized territories for its own purposes. They equip their military facilities in them, hiding behind a human shield of children and teachers," the General Staff explained.

In addition, the report says that in the village of Kardashynka, Skadovsk district, Kherson region, Russian forces are searching houses at night, stealing household appliances and cars from civilians.

Ukrainian aviation conducted 5 strikes on Russian concentration areas

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation carried out 5 strikes on the areas of concentration of Russian military personnel and equipment, as well as one strike on an anti-aircraft missile system.

In turn, missile and artillery units struck an anti-aircraft missile system, an area of concentration of personnel and military equipment, and a radar station of the Russian aggressors.

Russian forces carried out 6 air strikes and fired 10 times at the territory of Ukraine from multiple rocket launchers

During the day, the occupying Russian forces launched two missile strikes from the S-300 air defense system at Kupyansk, Kharkiv region. In addition, the enemy conducted 6 air strikes and fired more than 10 times from multiple launch rocket systems in other locations.

The Russian army is focusing on offensive actions in the Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Maryinka directions. Ukrainian Defense Forces units repelled 36 enemy attacks in these areas over the last day. The most fierce fighting continues for Bakhmut and Maryinka.

The situation in the regions bordering Belarus remained unchanged. There are no signs of enemy offensive groups forming.

In the northern direction, the Russian enemy fired artillery and mortar shells at border villages: one settlement in Chernihiv region; 3 settlements in Sumy region; and 7 settlements in Kharkiv region came under attacks.

The situation in other areas is the following:

In the Kupiansk direction, the town of Kupiansk and 6 other settlements were under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy did not launch any offensives. Four localities in the Luhansk region and four more in the Donetsk region came under artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Russian forces continue their offensive. Heavy fighting for the city of Bakhmut is ongoing. In addition, the enemy had unsuccessful offensives in the direction of Bohdanivka, Khromove and Klishchiyivka over the past day. Bakhmut,Chasiv Yar, Pivnichne and 7 other settlements in the Donetsk region were under enemy shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, the invading Russian troops attacked near Severne and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region, but their assault was unsuccessful. Russian forces shelled 8 towns and villages in the Donetsk region.

In the Maryinka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled numerous enemy attacks. At least 5 localities in the Donetsk region came under enemy fire.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy did not launch any offensive actions over the past day. They shelled Vuhledar and 5 other localities in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions the Russian forces are defending. However, the Russian army fired at more than 30 localities. Two guided aerial bombs hit the settlement of Kizomys, more than 10 civilian houses were damaged, 2 of them were completely destroyed. The local church and other civilian infrastructure were also damaged.

On the morning of April 25, Russian troops shelled the centre of Kupiansk in Kharkiv region, hitting the local history museum. The attack killed two women and injured 10 people.
