Russian forces bring 'extras' into occupied towns for events supporting its staged referendum
Invading Russian forces have transported fake 'activists' into Zaporizhzhya to improve the optics and propaganda potential of their staged referendum
The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine shared the news in its Telegram.
"In the temporarily occupied large population centers of the southern part of the Zaporizhia region, representatives of the occupation authorities are searching for collaborators who will create a "mass crowd" at the so-called spontaneous actions in support of the referendum. This, according to representatives of the occupation administrations, will contribute to reducing the degree of dissatisfaction with the war. It will also allow to create a suitable picture on TV for citizens of the Russian Federation," the message says.
"Activists" from the Russian Federation and the temporarily occupied Crimea have already arrived in Melitopol and set up their headquarters in the occupied premises of the Foxtrot store.
There is also a recruiting center in Berdyansk for those willing to cooperate with the Russian occupation authorities, but there are not many of them, even despite financial incentives.
"The importation of so-called humanitarian goods from the territory of the Russian Federation continues. The conditions for receiving humanitarian aid or its monetary compensation are participation in "actions in support" of the Russian occupation regime and the provision of personal passport data. Local residents with pro-Russian views and representatives are appointed to manage the distribution of "humanitarian aid" and the conduct of actions of the "United Russia" party, - the Main Directorate of Intelligence added.
Russians have created a social movement "We are together with Russia", which will organize paid "actions in support of the referendum".
