Russian forces are fortifying Crimea, Crimeans are trying to leave for 3rd countries - Refat Chubarov
The head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov, says that 70-80% of Crimean Tatars are on the lists for mobilization, and this is the invading Russian forces' conscious secondary goal - to destroy the Crimean Tatar adult male population
He shared the details with Espreso TV.
"From a military point of view, Crimea is being strengthened, as the occupiers are transferring heavy equipment to the peninsula from the territory of Russia, preparing camps for military personnel, perhaps who are currently being mobilized throughout the Russian Federation. The Russians are strengthening the fortifications on the demarcation line between the peninsula and the occupied Kherson region," the head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people said.
Refat Chubarov added that it is possible to leave Crimea, but the Russian occupiers have set up additional roadblocks, so they demand money for travel. According to the terms of the state of mobilization, men of conscription age who move to another place must notify the military commissars. Now thousands of people are fleeing Crimea to reach 3rd countries. At checkpoints, the Russian forces stop and ask permission to leave, respectively, each checkpoint takes up to RUB 5,000 from people.
"After analyzing the data on individual settlements for the first day of mobilization, September 22, we were shocked because 70-80% of those on the lists for mobilization are Crimean Tatars. This purposeful 2nd task carried out by the Russian occupiers is aimed at the destruction of the adult male population of the Crimean Tatars. All responsibility for mobilization in accordance with the laws of the Russian Federation falls on the places and the local authorities complete the approaches, it is clear that according to the instructions from Moscow. People will not serve the five years of imprisonment stipulated by the Russian occupation legislation for refusing to mobilize, because I am sure that Crimea will be liberated much earlier," Chubarov emphasized.
