Russian drone strike injures 5 civilians in Ukraine's Sumy, Kherson
On August 26, Russian forces launched a drone attack on Ukraine, leaving several people wounded in the Sumy and Kherson regions
Kherson region
According to the press service of the Kherson Regional State Administration, at around 7:00 a.m., Russian troops attacked a car traveling on the highway between the villages of Klapaia and Chornobaivka with a drone.
Two medical workers were injured as a result of the Russian strike: a 47-year-old medical director and a 38-year-old doctor from one of the local healthcare facilities. Preliminary reports indicate that they suffered blast injuries.
The victims went to the hospital on their own, where they're getting the medical help they need.
Also, around 7 a.m., Russian troops attacked Antonivka village with a drone.
A 59-year-old man was hit by the Russian strike. He suffered blast trauma and shrapnel wounds to his chest and abdomen.
The victim was taken to the hospital for medical assistance.
Dnipropetrovsk region
At night and in the morning, Russian troops attacked Synelnyky district in Dnipropetrovsk region with drones, said regional chief Serhii Lysak.
The strikes set fire to an agricultural enterprise and a private house, and damaged a car.
Russia also attacked Nikopol district, using an FPV drone and artillery against the town od Marhanets.
Ukraine’s air defenses shot down two UAVs over Dnipropetrovsk region.
Sumy region
Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, reported that Russian forces carried out drone attacks on several communities.
- Shostka community: After 1 a.m., a UAV strike left part of the population without electricity and damaged a residential building.
- Sumy and Bezdryk communities: Around 3 a.m., massive drone attacks ignited fires and damaged residential and non-residential buildings. Two civilians from Bezdryk were injured: a 51-year-old woman was hospitalized, and a 63-year-old man received medical treatment on site.
- Putyvl community: Non-residential buildings and equipment were damaged.
In addition, two UAV strikes hit Sumy city overnight. The attacks damaged storage facilities and caused fires in non-residential buildings. No casualties were reported.
